Mark Lowery, Ph.D. was a professor of Theology at the University of Dallas in Irving, Tx. for 27 years. He passed away on July 24th, 2021.

In the spirit of his generosity and love of teaching, this site exists as a place for his writings and teaching materials to live on, to be freely used by anyone.

Mark saw the world as abundantly beautiful, full of possibilities for awesome and profound experiences. He passionately shared his vision of the world with those around him, defining himself by a deep generosity of spirit. Nary a day passed when he did not brighten and enrich the lives of his family and friends through lively philosophical discussion, music, camping trips, and a steady stream of puns and wit.

At the time of his retirement, an article excerpt from the University of Dallas stated:
‘Since 1988, Dr. Lowery has served as professor of moral theology in the department of theology, as well as having served as chair of the department for almost half of that time. Dr. Lowery is the author of numerous writings in moral theology, as well as his book Living the Good Life: What Every Catholic Should Know About Moral Issues. He has been prominently involved in the Society of Catholic Social Scientists.

He is famous among students for his brilliant teaching and deep appreciation of Catholic theological tradition. He helped students delight in the process of learning, always ready with a joke or a humorous anecdote to illustrate the point at hand.
